House: artificial lights explored

After a simple solution (choosing load family), we managed to get the artificial lights to work. here are a couple interior artificial light studies. The first is just interior lights, the 2nd is with a couple exterior lights placed (they don't add a lot of light, but it showed up in revit after it rendered).

House- Finished!

These are the sheets I decided to use to print out on the 11x17 sheets. They ended up at 8 sheets, I am sure I could have compounded the images and plans to fewer sheets, but i decided this would show what I've learned best.

Abigail and I were unable to place any artificial lights, however we were able to play around with sun settings in order to illuminate the space better.

Solar animation

Here is the Solar Animation Abigail and I managed to complete of the South elevation. This shows the lighting over the next year from today, Tuesday, September 14th of 2010 to the following year 2011 of the same date.

More progress on the 2-story house...

We have gotten the doors, windows, furniture and pluming fixtures placed into the house.

The two-story warehouse finished by viewing and following the Basics tutorials provided by a Revit user.

BIM Benefits

Without the creation or organization of B.I.M., designing and productivity would be much slower and less "precise". With all of the information organized into the computer programs and general processes used to design and create. Being able to organize all of the work that goes into a building has and will definitely improve both productivity and cost and consolidates unnecessary searching for other components. Building Information Modeling's goal was to simplify, in a way, the processes by which buildings are completed and constructed. We, meaning students and designers/architects all around, have gained time, money and precision.
