Project Proposal(2 Week):
,, Our research group(JJ, Maggie Landmann, and Katie Schmidt ) would like to propose a 2 week project that tests energy modeling on the house project. We want to give it a site, and cover a broad area of studies within energy analysis (including, but not limited to: solar radiation, sun positioning, fenestration studies, acoustical modeling, etc.) In order to accomplish this, we can use Revit along with other plug-ins that we can export data to perform testing. We will also be researching the information readability between programs like Ecotect, Green Building Studio, Grasshopper, etc. with Revit.
With a two week deadline we will not be able to get too in depth into all of these study areas within energy modeling. Ideally, we would like to focus more on a couple of study areas than the others so that we may know a little more about certain tests and so we don’t spread ourselves too thin. Maybe we could focus more on studies that are most useful for any building including sun path, building orientation, fenestrations, etc.

Some software plug ins that may be used are Autodesk Ecotect Analysis and Autodesk Green Building Studio. Both can be used with Revit and are free on the Autodesk student website.
